That, in a nutshell, is the ongoing Dilemma of Bright Women. Answer, No of course not! A woman might be branch manager of a bank, her husband might be parts manager in a local franchise of an auto supply business. Husband is offered a job 300 miles away for the same firm, and Guess Who has to quit the bank? Riiiiight! For the average husband, his career is supported by marriage--and the marriage is secondary and [presumably] operated by Guess Who. No advice required, slam-dunk. There is no 'combination' for a man...all the either/or is weighted his way, no pondering...just a given. For every Alan Alda there are 5 million Bubbas...some of whom, whether clad in Armani or a shirt with a name-tag, would be absolutely astonished at a little banker fighting off a husband's transfer. Why seek advice, guy...the front-loading has already been accomplished!Has anyone ever heard a man ask for advice on how to combine marriage and a career?
A few time on the Marriage and Divorce category.Has anyone ever heard a man ask for advice on how to combine marriage and a career?
That would require them to think and speak at the same time, and we all know how rare that is!
